Tricky question, a mate of mine made one Land Rover out of three, and kept the vin plate from the late '60s series 2a, so it was tax exempt.

I guess it would be classed as a 4x4 ford escort van, with the engine/chassis numbers transfered to the rego docs (V5).

    Still working for the man!

Surely you don't want to take the risk of driving to Spain with dodgy brakes?

Be safe, get them looked at before setting off, goodness knows how much it would cost to repair over there and you may have difficulty getting the parts.
Thanks Scorpion, i´ll do that. Any advise on good Toyota garages. I am in Spalding heading to London then to Portsmouth...

thanks Sledge, have just checked him out, seems he is out of repair action at the moment, bugger. I´m getting the hang on this forum now so hopefully can find something near to Spalding. Any idea on cost for the brakes?
thanks to all for the help and advice..
