Got four of these on my roof at mo, a couple of things, the boys in blue will pull you over they did me, and also the do rust badly, so if it were me I would go for the white legal ones and treat them with a good coat of polish before fitting them, also I bought mine of a site on ebay called psi tools and they were £49 on my door step so it will pay to look around.

Got four of them on the front, aint been pulled yet, make sure you give the insides a good greasing, the lense rusts easyly, otherwise a nice spot, they were cheaper from roughtrax £50 pair plus you got grills, wire the angel eyes through a switch then you have the option

I've just bought 6 of them to fit to my roof bar. They seem pretty good, but they're still sat in the box at the moment. I'll be taking some precautions to rust proof them a bit.

Oh, I only paid £50 for all six delivered.

Got 4 of them on the front of my truck, as said they do rust, spray the insides with grease and the outsides with spray lacquer.

As far as the Law goes, yes they are legal, the only reference to a blue lamp is a warning beacon

"No vehicle shall be fitted with a blue warning beacon or special warning lamp, or a device which resembles a blue warning beacon or a special warning lamp, whether the same is in working order or not. Obligatory warning beacons"

"no vehicle shall be fitted with a lamp which automatically emits a flashing light."

Basically provided the blue light is emitting a continuous light output then there is no law to say you can't use these lights.

There is no legal code that the police can use to book you for an offence, they will however pull you over and try.

I have a copy of the legal requirements of lights and lamps for motor vehicls if any one would like a read.

I have the blue on the front of the truck.
I bought them from roughtrax £49. They lasted a year then one seal failed and one rusted badly. Barry sent me a new set for free, but that's roughtrax for you top company top bloke.

I'll second that - RoughTrax rock!!!

I have a pair of WIPAC spots from them, both bulbs just blew.....less than 4 months old...oh well, but the spots are great, good price, excellent service and no issues with the rozzers!

PIAA make lights for the Gods of motorsport though...

Dunno about WARN, never seen any of their lights.

Lightforce look like very nice kit, but are again mega-spendy. On a truck, I want something that isn't gonna fall apart or rust in 6 months, but something I'm not gonna lose sleep over if I ding it. I've got Wipacs on the front of the roof rack - which I WILL fit one day, and they look like very good VFM.

Hey Mud, I will probably be putting a few kilos worth of stuff on the rack too, assuming I can mount the thing to decent hardpoints...

Let me know how that goes on the roof rack - I may buy a roof cage, and fit it to two bars (Thules types) at the back and one on the front, spread the weight, and still use Nina's idea for the ladder.....

I have them and have the angle eye wired to the side lights, this caused the truck to fail the MOT, the side light fuction had to be disconected for it to pass

I was going to wire the angel eyes through a switch so I could over-ride them coming on with the sidelights (either permanently off, or on with sidelights).
