Golf Diesel

Does anyone know if a 2001 vw golf 1.8 diesel would cope with a veggie oil/ diesel mix.... Its for a friend of my wife who was interested when my wife told her I was running my surf on a veggie mix... Being a German car I assume it would be a Bosch Fuel pump and not a Lucas.. but would hate to give her the wrong advice and knacker her car.. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

P.s. Tesco's Pura oil now beig £1.07ltr is has really P***ed me off.... How can it go from being the cheapest in their range of oil's to one of the most expensive????

It wont be a 1.8, it will be a 1.9 If its a PD engine then no, if its a TDI then yes but go easy on the mix, if its an SDI then yeah go for it. My old Polo SDI used to love it.

I would have a spare fuel filter handy just in case it sludges or lifts crud from the tank.

and a bottle of injector cleaner won't go amiss.
