Vicki has a VW and it is ultra reliable. She's had it probably 3 years now, and NOTHING ever changes! Its a futile exercise lifting the bonnet. Its still ultra clean, and all the fluids are still at the same level as ever.

Its a 10 year old 1.6 Polo, and it feels tighter and more solid than a brand new French car, and drives like a dream. I'd have no hesitation in having another car from the VAG stable.

Dunno if I'd wanna tow with it, but I'd certainly look at one of the bigger VWs for towing. A Passat even, if you can stand the boredom

I'd have an Audi too, but a BMW? - Not sure I could bring myself to own one. Do I really want to be villified by the great unwashed for the car I drive EVEN MORE than I am now??

Audi... another excuse to post these

As Carl says, no worries at all. Engine parts etc are all supplied by Xpart (who are part of Caterpillar) and pattern panels are still being made. Production has just started again in China, so no long term worries either.

Depends on your budget really, but I don't think there's anything that'll match it for the money:

Depending on funds why not keep it in the family so to speak (Toyota).

What's wrong with a Carina E or an Avensis ?
Look out Eastbourne, the Pandas are coming !
