  • history of 3rd gen

    the gent i bought my 3rd gen from sent me the paperwork for the work he had done on the surf, all paperwork from 2006 [truck was imported dec 2005]
    started in feb 2006 with a wiper blade changed £4.58 lol
    jan 2008 new head, water pump,thermostat , etc £1634.41
    plent of work done in between
    one i had to laugh at was battery was flat and stuck in park so were unable to recoverhad to take battery to vehicle lol
    done 2775 miles since head was done
    got an aiba works bashplate [very sturdy]
    nice bar on the front
    receiver hitch


    couple of little bits to do but if thats all that is wrong with i will be well pleased seeing as i bought it cheap
    speedo is kilometres
    rocker cover got slight leak

    nero] found battery thing in font of battery

          hope they don't, but there seems to be a few mentioned on here, hopefully no more than any other vehicle

            There's been a few 3.0 litre engines go down, and the 3rd gen has the same heart as a KZN130.

                Nice one Dave, still happy with it then Little bit o research to find out the fixes for them two things and sorted, looks like a great truck for the money to me. And if i can find one at that price or a bit less in about a years time i'll be more than tempted.

                  The head on mine was fubar too and was replaced b4 i bought the 3rd gen only thing is they replaced the lot but put back on the crappy seal which was hard , and i had leak which i posted about on here had it fixed and put on for £50 inc parts job done.

                      Looks good Dave, Whats the suspension? pro comp? or Iron man maybe?
                      Whats the ride like?
                      Me and a mate are building a winch comp motor for punch challenges, so I'll be keeping the Surf to use for towing and camping and of course RTTS

                        the shocks are big country [??never heard of them ]
                        the ride is softer than my 2nd gen [e9000 +milner springs]
                        greased underneath today[props]is there any grease points by wheels like 2nd gen ??
                        are you using your cruiser for comp motor??

                              The only grease points I could find was on the prop shafts.

                              are you using your cruiser for comp motor??
                              No, to heavy looking for either Zook SJ or Jimny

                              Big Country?? sounds American! was asking as I want to get some new rear shocks. the springs are fine but it does bounce about on the rear
