It may be heavy rock but at least we could understand the words and they played there musical instruments properly and with passion,!!
Cant be all bad after all these years i still remember the words still got the music great when on my own blasting it(well if the kids can do it!!) and hoovering away!

Obviously all music is derivative but most of the above added something significant to the development of rock (which is why I disagree with AC/DC and Whitesnake !)
