I thought the thread was about rock ??????
Anything coming out of the glam scene doesn't quite hit the mark IMHO !
(And I include Bowie in that regardless of his talent)
PS
WTF are we all doing online at this time on a Bank Holiday - are you all half cut like me ?Life is too important to take seriously !

You must be doing summat wrong Vince - my three turned up 4 weeks early and were sleeping through the night by the time they hit 10 weeks !
It might have been something to do with us being too knackered to pick them up or give them much attention ........

rock
Dont forget KISS and Golden Earring
It may be heavy rock but at least we could understand the words and they played there musical instruments properly and with passion,!!
Cant be all bad after all these years i still remember the words still got the music great when on my own blasting it(well if the kids can do it!!) and hoovering away!

What about:
Deep Purple
Santana
John Mclaughlin
Man (For the Welsh contingent !)
Black Sabbath
The Groundhogs
The Who
ELP
Hendrix
Cream
The Rolling Stones
Obviously all music is derivative but most of the above added something significant to the development of rock (which is why I disagree with AC/DC and Whitesnake !)
Genesis
Rainbow
Blue Oyster Cult
Hawkwind
Thin Lizzy
and I'm old enough to have seen quite a few of these live................
Cheers, Nick"The force will be with you, always!"
