I Have noticed that someone on this board has a Porn website as their homepage. This is not acceptable. This is a board that people may use from work and if they go to someone's homepage from their work machine (like me) and get sacked because of it then I think we have a serious problem with this forum.

I have removed the offending item, If it goes back on, that user is History, bye bye, off ya go, don't come back. Anyone else thinks this is funny should go away and have a word with themselves.

Am I wrong?, does anyone else feel this is unacceptable behaviour and demonstrates the most incredible stupidity. Posts will be accepted either positive or negative.

Thanks for the support. I figure I'll give one chance to anyone and then boot them. Everyone can maybe make a mistake in spelling on the address and go somewhere they didn't intend, once can be a genuine mistake, twice is taking the P**s.

I agree with keith 100%. In fact your actions were a little generous, perhaps resticted access should be applied straight away and preiod of probation before full access is regained. If it happends again

I agree. while I have no problem with porn, there is a time and place for it. My 11 year-old wants to see pics of the surfs - and if I'd got a porn site link trying to show him the pics I wouldn't be very happy.

linking things like that is like a dwarf with limited intellect - it's not big and it's not clever!

            I'm with you Lucky.

If folk want to look at that kinda stuff thats up to them, but dont try to entice/trick others into seeing it. if people want to find some on the net, they dont need any help. God knows it's easy enough to find.

This is not the place for it.

I think you did the right thing, however has the individual in question given a reason for doing this?

Benefit of the doubt and all that....

No they haven't, and no names mentioned but if that person (and they know who they) are wants to PM me and explain then so be it.

I figure also we never posted it as a rule but now it is and unless everyone disagrees then it will stay as a rule.

                Cheers

Well spotted. PM the guy (or gal) and tell them to change it or else. I have given this forum address to anyone who has shown interest in Surfs, including my young nephew. We dont need that kind of publicity.

As of yesterday I started receiving spam porn emails into my hotmail inbox. I dont visit these sites and it's the same e-mail address that I used to register here.

I hope it's a coincidence otherwise somone deserves a good shoeing.

It's a Hotmail thing, I get all kinds of junk porn emails on mine, and some of them don't know whether I'm a man or a woman.

                        Cheers

As andy says its a Hotmail thing, my wife started getting them after no problems for two months then bang they came flooding in. Some of them were not even correctly addressed, talking to an IT bod at work they send a block of emails that finds an email address/es with hundreds of permutations. Hotmail being very common and uncomplicated is the easiest to do this on.
Within Hotmail is the facility to block senders so you can just block the sender next time you get one.
Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.

alternativley you could do this only genuine messages then in your inbox, choose options, then junk mail filter,Choose your Junk Mail Filter level Delete junk mail immediately, Junk mail messages are deleted without ever being delivered to your Junk Mail folder

I get about 50 mail per day in the junkmail folder, about 10 or so spam mails makeit through to the inbox, I just delete them anyway.

This is why I got 1 private mail that only important stuff goes to, and everything else gets the hotmail addy.

Blocking the senders is no good, they come randomly from all sorts off addresses, not worth the effort.

Also, what ever you do, don't click on the 'remove/unsubscribe me' link on spam mails, this just proves to the sender its an active address and you get flooded!

                              ######s!!!!!

Ad-aware or simular spyware programs work well on relieving the spam, it takes a week or so to build up again after running it. Its the porn that does most of it, they love leaving little presents in the PC. Don't tell me you don't!
