  • 1KZ-TE in my Hi-lux pickup

How easy is this convertion? Would TonyN be interested in converting a LN107 2.8 manual 3L to a 3.0 TD 1KZ-TE? over a period of time for cash

Love the pickup but it's so lacking in power

Have you got the 1KZTE engine to put in it?

Yes it's bullet proof, I don't know about a turbo?

I'd go with GB's advice on adding a turbo. Seems to be far less hassle than a transplant.

I'm going for a 1Uz-fe within the next few months so if you're after a superb, well cared for lump let me know.

Can that be done then? Any advice gratefully received

After 8 years of ownership I'm both bored of it but would also hate to sell it. (if that makes sense)

I have a 1KZ-TE in my LC and IMO its a great motor, would love that power in my Hilux.

Far as I remember, (off the top of my head), it's not actually too convoluted. Best place to look for info on adding the turbo would be either Yotatech or Ih8mud. I think there's a few on those sites who've done various turbo mods.

I'd go with the turbo up-grade. Ive done the 3ltr thing and once was enough. Wasnt it Jotto.

Its not very technical but then again neither am I
