  • Tyre bead sealer?

What can be used to seal the beading when changing a tyre. Or does any need to be used? Mt 33's are going on and i thought i'd better check.

ive seen that before, but will it stay inflated if i dont use any? Or is it a must? Whats the stuff they paint on at a tyre place?

It is bead sealant and it should stay up even if it's not used as long as the rim is in good shape and cleaned properly. Ask at your local tyre fitters and they will point you in the right directon as to where they get it from.

I took a leaf out of your book matt and when i was last at them wanting something done, and pricing tyres they were expensive to say the least, so i proceeded to tell them that they were effectively stealing and could stick theyre tyres up emselves. Remould 31's £98 each!!!! Thats a complete joke.

Christ. £98 each. What were they, gold plated? Can't blame you for telling 'em to shove it.

it's also a lubricant to help the bead slip over the rim. I've normally used either Swarfiga or washing up liquid with the same effect
