Linda's truck is all black, the black/silver are far harder to find IMHO......

Really? (and the plot thickens) - I've been sent details of a few black over silver, but none all black. But it does seem all-blacks do exist from manufacture, it's just the importer said he's not seen one that's original which is odd as they get about 50-60/day to check out. I hold out a little while longer.

As I said the silver ones also look great, but I think look more of a family car, and may look a little odd with raised suspension and Kumhos on

Surely if you want an all black, low mileage, new 3rd gen you only have one choice:

ah yes - the Navigator - certainly a nice car, but it has 70k miles and not a 3.0L TD. Also I want an intercooler. Not that I'm picky in any way shape or form

70k is nothing and a 2.7 petrol would be a lot quicker once you'd added on the supercharger.....

Do the US spec V6s with the intercooler scoop have any ducting behind it, or is it just a hole in the bonnet??

If it's done properly (some just cut a hole in the bonnet for the 'look'), then the is a square 'tube' with rubber(?) seals that seal round the bonnet's hole.

I don't know what happens if you add a snokel to the vehicle aswell though. I'm guessing you seal off the bonnet's hole, and redirect the flow from the snorkel?? Anyone know if that's right? I guess it has to be lol.

Which US spec V6s? Got a picture? Could be ones with a TRD supercharger and an intercooler?

No, the snorkel is that air intake. The hole in the bonnet is just to keep the intercooler cool.

I thought the top spec US V6s came with the scooped bonnet, from the factory....

I also thought all the superchargers are TRD accessories, and not factory fit...

But I'm still new to this surf lark

Don't know about that. I've never seen one with a scoop though.

Supercharers are accessories, I just meant they might have put one on and cut a hole in the bonnet.

There are load sof the US sites, I think they are the SR5 ones..

                                http://66.49.172.173/toyota/4runner002.jpg

AFAIK they never got the diesel... Of couse they could ahve just used intercooler bonnets... but there seem to be a lot with the scoop.. it just seems to open out onto the inlet manifold...

                                Again. I'm probably wrong :P

I do know that I want to intercool mine with a factory scoop
