its not worth getting one if its not what you want...just keep looking and before long you will find the truck you want.

that truck in the pic has got just the same lifts and wheels etc as i have on my truck apart from i don't have the wheel spacers on mine.

I had never driven an auto till i got my first surf and i wouldn't go back to manual now, even for off roading i find it so much better

Thanks Stormforce that's reassuring. I just hope I'm not waiting for something that doesn't exist lol, but one thing that is sure - my current car is slowly dying and the import will take 3 months to arrive from date of purchase.

Black over Black. Definitely not a factory finish though!

'definately' - is this your surf? I spoke to one garage about the cost of changing the base to black, but they said it would be very expensive, something clost to £1k. Is this right?? Anyone know how much? Thanks.

If I have to repsray I would, but £1k sounds a lot!

Yes it is my surf.. and a grand sounds a lot... I have had whole cars blown over for £500 and my body shop quoted me £1k to do a nice respray on the supra.

I also really wanted a black one, I was really after a SSR-G but settled with an SSR-X limited as it was the right colour and low miles.

              Did you get your's resprayed?

I just called a garage in London, and they gave a rough quote of £600 for the base (both bumpers, arches which need to be taken off and then the door bottoms). Still sounds a little high to me, but I guess can shop around.

Yeah, as I said, I heard recently the ssr-G doesn't come in black, and as I didn't care about the wood dash/reversing mirror (nor that type of spoiler) then a ssr-x Limited would be better (and they come in black). maybe I'll sacrafice a few miles on the clock for budgeting a black sprayover on the bottom. We'll see.

Mines totally black and all factory finished. You are making a wise choice in the colour finish.

My SSR-X has the rear wheel carrier/roof compas/rear reversing mirror/sun roof.. (part of the limited spec I presume) it also has faux carbon fibre trim instead of wood, that looking at it is not a stick on cover, its the actual plastic parts, not sure if this was a factory option or not?

The only things it hasn't got are the rear heater/heated fuel filter, second battery, cruise control and intercooler.

Did they ever do a black interior??

The main interiors of these truck were all options added by the 1st owner when the truck was bought. Thats why most of these trucks are so different on the inside as the little Jap fellas had what they wanted fitted
