cordless home phone?

hi ppl i have a bt zenith flip,ribbon just gone,ie no picture,so need a new phone,she wants cordless with answer machine,colour screen,but our main gripe with this phone is reception,sound,ie u gotta shout,any suggestions??

I use the Bt Freestyle Quad (can't remember the mosel number sorry). I've put the base station, which houses the answer machine however the answer machine can be accessed from any of the phones, in the kitchen roughly central on the ground floor. The only place in the house where reception is patchy is in my office which is farthest and is full of electrical appliances.
I think in the BT Shop at the moment it's about £80 and you get four phones for that.
I've tried other brands of phone in the past and although I hate BT, I am forced to admit that their phones tend to outlast other makes.
