I would rather see turbines with cables underground than rows and rows of ugly pylons with wires that fail in storms

OK I'm back. I was out feeding my free range hens and watering my organic garden.

I'm no enviro-nut or tree hugger, I'm in fact an electrician whos made a bob here and there installing home wind turbines. I'm not opposed, I think its a great concept, but its all basically a con.

In countries where there are thousands of wind farms, not a single traditional power generating plant has been closed down. Wind is too unreliable a source.
Home wind bines take 10-15 years to cover their installation costs.
I like the way they look too - BTW those overhead power lines still need to be there wind or not, its the distribution grid.

You keep buying them and i'll keep installing them.

If they are astetically pleasing to you, great, just dont think we're saving the planet or something silly like that.

Anyway, the planet dosent need saving its more like - save the human race. The planet will be fine with or without us.
