Yeah, I was a bit vague on that. I'm going to trade it in if no-one buys it but seriously want to sell to someone here who will look after it (or make use of what I've spent) so would take a hit to sell to the right person.
I have been told £1-2k trade in by a dealer so will sell to someone on here who offers me four figures for it - i.e. more than a grand. Kind of an auction, only among forum members with the reserve set at £1,000. Which is a fcuking bargain.
Come on guys these are great trucks…. Ok it may not be the SSR-G version like mine with the Recaro seats and factory fitted rear spoiler….
BUT these are by far the quickest, quietest and smoothest of all the second generation Surfs……. 150 bhp and a real power hike over those 2.4’s.
Now that diesel prices are climbing higher than petrol the running costs will even out, especially if you are only doing a low annual mileage.
I can confirm that these V6 Surfs can leave many new 4x4’s (and lots of cars) standing at the lights…. It is great to see the look on the faces of Mitsubishi owners in their new (invariably) black “Warriors” as you blast away in your (1994) old Toyota.
So rather than trying to tweak noisy, sluggish diesels or shoehorn in a non –standard V8 and ending up with a troublesome hybridised “project”…. Just buy yourself this proper performance surf as designed and built by Toyota
