i have a 2.4 td surf 1990, i am told that they recycle the gasses and use it again.
if that is true then hot air is going back in to the engine, this will reduce boost to the turbo. colder the air the going in the better, this gives more boost to the turbo. also cools the engine, ( thats were the head probs come in to it possibly ).
i have read on the internet that some block off the recycle pipe with a blank gasket on the engine end.
but what do you do with the other end that has the vacum pipes on, ( blank them off ? )
is it good or bad to do this, will it upset the engine fuel / air mix / ecu / timing, etc.
if you have blanked yours off please let me know how its working ?
colder air = more power , cooler engine, less smoke, please tell me what you think ?
