Cable looks like it could be for a CB - the box - dunno - bit of a bad pic - has it got anything written on it?

      Your world is blurred...

The second one looks like the antenna plug for a radio.

Dunno what the first is. Any Toyota numbers.

That pic is a bit too sharp. Any chance of a fuzzier one?

As MattF says it's a turbo timer, once switched on it will allow you engine to run for a predetermined time to allow the turbo to cool, and slow down, thus saving it.

Your insurance company might not like you using it though.

The other one looks a bit large for an Aerial lead, it could be a cable for a boot mounted CD multichanger, Have you had a look in the back for a similar plug?

1 - I wouldn't bother. They seem silly to me, but others will tell you otherwise.

2 - Because it leaves your engine running after you've got out and gone to the shops.

i used my turbo timer for warming up in the morning...

start engine, set for 20 mins, take keys and go for a cuppa!!

i'd say the other was a multichanger too.

Yes the first pic is the turbo timer, and it is totally illegal in this country as you are not allowed to leave your vehicle unattended with the engine running. There have been a couple of prosecutions for this in the last year and also i seem to remember someone was run over buy their own vehicle cos they had a faulty gearbox and the dog managed to knock it into gear.

The second plug looks like the connection to either a Sony or Kenwood disc changer, have a look behind the panels in the rear as this was a popular hiding place to fit the unit,

                          Cheers

Effective for prolonging turbo bearing life, however.
