The only reason he can do it is because he is famous , he can get on the tv , people are not going to listen to the likes off us are they. And the chickens that he reared were given away free to the town shops so that everyone could try some. Surly thats got to go some way to a donation.

I never said he bettered the life of anyone nor did you, what you did say is that he did it to make money. He ####ed off the supermarkets which cant have done him any favours, he,s trying to tell people how to change thier shopping habbits which allso ####es people off. And i should imagine any money that was made would have had to go partyly to the bill for setting the whole thing up. Men humffffffffffff bring it on.

I doubt it would mate, but its now carring on with absolutly no support from me, which is the most I can do and still sleep at night.

Don't be hater, just cos he's got more £££ than you. You don't have to listen. But at least it some thought, instead of just writing it off as a waste of time.

If you got to be famous and interviewed, you would say anything about your ideals? You wouldn't try to influence people to what you think is right?

Seriously, do you think Hugh 'Scrotey Boy whatever his hyphenated name is', would donate all his earnings from his T.V appearances to the likes of the R.S.P.C.A, for the betterment of our feathered friends? My arse he would.

Not unless it involved trying to convince a sexy female interviewer that it really was for her better good to.............

I was just gonna say that he's a long haired scrotey gimp with silly glasses, until I realised I'm a long haired gimp with silly glasses. He's still a scrote, though.

Now, due to the fact that I had mentioned donating all his earnings for the betterment of their lives, your sentence above does, by virtue, suggest that he bettered someone or somethings life.

                          I missed this!!

You do realise dont you that 20 years ago the general opinion held of those who were concerned about the environment, recylcing and green fuels was to scoff and say it would never change. Noone is laughing now are they?

I fully support JAX original email, Sir Paul is being very silly. Most farm animals in UK are kept very well - but chickens are the exception, and it is unnecessary!! Those of you on the Cornwall RTTS saw how free range intensive farming can work well.

I also think that if Hugh and co have made even a few people think about what they are eating and change then good will come of it, and I hope it will snowball like recycling did. Have your own opinions but dont slate people who are making an effort to educate and enlighten others. We'd still have child labour and slaves if someone hadnt stood up and said "this isnt right"

I personally dont wish to eat meat that has been raised in unsanitory, inhuman conditions. If that makes me odd or weird in your opinions - fine with me.

As for the cost argument - dont make me laugh!! There "poor" folk living squashed in flats you mention manage to find the money for their ciggys, and their acrylic nails!!! I'm sure they can find a couple of extra quid for decently raised healthy chicken and egg products if they want to!

This is what battery hens look like - these have been free for 3 weeks at this point. They couldnt even stand for long on two legs as they didnt have room to stand in their cages!

As for MattF's "women" comments - thats just plain childish! Let's resort to stereotypes when we can't come up with a reasonable argument shall we!! No doubt I'll earn a similar pathetic comment too.

People realising they can make a large profit from something, (or save money from it), is far different to it being done from genuine concern.

Hmm. The difference being now that we pay people in other countries for controlling the slave labour. Yup, big leap forward that one is.

Hi, I do agree that battery hens live in awful conditions. My son's girlfriend works at a chicken farm and I'm currently waiting to 'free' about 60 of them. They will go to 2 acres of woodland where they can scart about 'till their hearts are content.

It just seems like there are so many people who think they are experts because they keep a few livestock, going on the tv and telling everybody how it should or shouldn't be done. I have people telling me how to keep sheep because they know everything after bottle feeding pet lambs for three weeks. Forty years experience and 1000 organic sheep to look after doesn't count!

One quick question Linda. Are all people who live in the countryside, keep any type of livestock and own more than a few square metres of land uneducated country yokels? One, personally, would not presume to tar all non town dwelling people with such a large and heavily tarred brush, so why should anyone else believe they have the right to do so to others? Just curious.
