people like that dealer would charge a mentally handicapped person 300% more than what a item is worth and think nothing off it.
personally i dont like to see people ripped off.

'person with learning disabilities' please.
I know what you mean but, speaking as someone trained to value anything from a flat to a national park, the definition of value is what someone will pay for it.
even if it means ripping someone off ?
if a person with learning difficulties offered you £20 for a can of coke would you take their money ? !
Personaly no, I would feel bad and lose sleep.
but where do you draw the line. 50p can or coke from Sainsburys, or £1 from a motorway services. both are happening.
But thats why I'm a rubbish businessman, I have a consience. Untill we live in a communist country, people can charge what they like. Whether people pay it is up to them.
4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...
I dont agree with ripping people off - but c'mon if someone said to you "mate, I love your runner, I'll give you £4K for it" would you say "nooo mate, I only paid £1495 - have it for that"
I'd find it hard to believe if that was true.
Im fcucked if im selling my TJM bumper for the same as i paid for it! Nooo way
Its a dog eat dog world. Charge what you want - if you get it! great! good for you, if you dont.. change your ways!!
An yes i would take the handicapped persons £20 because if a 'normal' person offered me £20 for a can i'd take it! So it would be unfair to discriminate *

No, but if I had a shop and advertised coke for £20 a can I would expect people to come in and laugh at me. There is the slight possibility that someone may one day pay it though. Commercially, it would have made a lot more sense for me to sell them for 50p each because I would shift more than 40 of them to every can of £20 coke (ignoring the cost of buying them etc etc). Someone might buy a can of coke for £1 though (try Leicester Square). I would need to see whether enough people bought them for £1 to put up with the lower demand or if I could make more money selling more cans for 50p. That's how prices are set.
That dealer presumably has less exposure to the market because he's a little more remote than others. People would probably be unwilling to travel to England to buy a cheaper one because it would cost them in travel, so they will pay more for a Scottish one.
As I said though, I very much doubt anyone actually paid that much for it. I also think anyone with severe learning disabilities wouldn't have a driving license .
i dont blame the dealer for making a good profit, but 6k for a 2k car is pure greed.
i would take £6000 for my 4runner but only if the person realised it was only worth £2000, if he is fully aware of that that then thats upto him.
i do not rip people off.

a friend of mine has quite severe learning difficulties and has a driving license and he is the type of person who would pay a greedy dealer well over the odds if he didnt have trustworthy people around him that know a bit about cars.
since when did you all turn into women and start over analysing every thing.no one who runs a business does it for the love of it,they do it to make money.
tony says he doesnt make anything cos his cocsience gets the better of him but he has everyone going to him so it aint all bad,in fact it works for him.
this dealer charges top dollar for his stock ,and if you are imprudent enough to buy this without doing your homework first then its your lookout, and whilst no one likes to be ,or likes to see others ripped off,he aint breaking any law,he is just running a business and i do believe in this day and age, thats still legal

In that case mate, i can fully understand why you would have issues with the dealers greed. Its a bit more personal when you think it could be someone you know / care about being ripped off because they were unaware.
Well yeah... i spose .... But it was still a bargain! Was it you that pointed it out mate?? Cuz i can never remember who posted the ad!
Good use of 'multiquote' Rod. Yeah, it was me. I was wondering how much they cost, googled it and found that one in loot or something. Apparently they cost 30 quid.....
