  • hi everyone..

    thought i'd say hi - i'm Rob.
been scanning this site a lot along with other forums in prep for buying a 4x4 for my work (do drystone walling nr bath) - cambelt went on pickup before xmas and been spending last few weeks deciding which 4x4 to buy - went for the plunge last thur and got a j reg 2.4 surf (metallic green ), and def feel i made the right choice...i love this car! never have i been driving home from work and not actually wanted to get back - thats how relaxing they are to drive - and theres even an armrest to the left so i don't spill me pint!
no doubt i'll rear my ugly head a few times to ask blindingly obvious questions (will check previous threads 1st), as i know bugger all about engines / mechanics, though am learning bits already from you lot...very helpful forum

really wanted a green one - as soon as i saw it i knew it was gonna be mine! also in amazingly good nick - the previous owner really looked after it i think.- got it from a dealer which isnt like me, - so hard to trust dealers - but the 3 months guarentee swayed it. temp guage stays nice and low too...one question already - is it poss to disable reversing and door opening beeps easily?

btw its this one - they havent taken ad off yet!

                      Welcome along Rob.

I've got a 179 touch up pen in front of me right now and, let me tell you, it's pretty sweet.

I think the dealer means it was first imported in 2003. Seems about right as it would have been over 10 yo and therefore no SVA problems.

it was imported in 2002, and done 142000 km. i think the dealer puts no info on ebay cos he doesnt want to sell it through ebay and pay the commission - notice his feedback is 0, but hes been registered a while - quite sneaky really, cos obviously you look at car before buying, then do the deal privately. his method has prob put a lot of people off - i was suspicious at first, but as it was local i had a look, and it's immaculate!
