noticed they are selling (open to offers) the tyres off their patrol in the rear of the mag

At least they are muddy. I'd rather read about a mucky LR than a road test of the latest softroader.

Anyway, I can remember a double cab Hilux, a big Jeep, a couple of Zukis, etc.. on the front covers last year.

Most of thier byway Road books are done using a nice big Nissan Patrol.

i agree with you thats why i took out a subscription
its just coz here in wales theres more landys about than cars (well not entirely true but there is alot of them) 100 yards away from me there is a landy repair specialist, the only none lr he will have in there is mine when i need to use his workshop lol
cannt knock there brand loyalty tho, landy owners are known as rivet counters locally

As is that weird Merc trials truck in this months. Some really nice engineering in it.

I really dont think you can knock ALL Landys either. Apart from my well documented personal hates about them (driving position, reliability etc) I've seen a few really nice modded ones that I'd be proud to own.

The Defender 'pick up' with TBR at Strata Florida in October was awesome!

Maybe Mark would be well placed for a bash at Safari type events when he gets his V8 in the 2st gen?

Think the Surf's too long a wheelbase / too much overhang at the back for challenge type stuff though.

Not yet! Would like to if I had time. Elvie said she did, but didn't see any pics.

To be honest, if you're spending the cash to built a comp truck, you'd be better starting with something that had solid axles in the first place, like a pickup or 'Cruiser. I'd like to build a comp Surf just because its would be cool and different and Surfs are what I like, most people are a little more sensible and start with a shorter/easier to built truck.
