to be safe put a bridle between the two tow hooks on the surf, if you've got both. feed the bridle through one end of the tow strap/rope, don't use any metalwork to connect the bridle to the strap, rated (or at least substantial) metalwork can be used to connect the bridle to the vehicle if necessary. Make sure the recovery gear's up to the job, and don't stand in stupid places
I'm actually probably being a little over the top, but i'd rather see you out safe than anyone be injured in the process of recovering a lump of metal (edit: plastic ).

don't think so, but they should have been, all recoveries are dangerous and need respect.
Larking about and ribbing the poor bugger whos stuck is fine, but once the recovery's underway it stops til the recovery's over, especially if there's a ####er driving the towing vehicle.

if u have no luck, call breakdown recovery, just say stuck in mud,and u will get winched out,if no cover,u can join greenflag with a fault already, and when they come, offer driver a score cause they will want to charge extra winching
Nice truck! wicked looking mud... I have been stuck in many a farmers field, I know how you feel (I don't Know why I admitting that?)
Previous experience of farmers being either P****d off or not interested. P****d off i find better as it means they don't want you there and are accepting of money to help get rid of you.
However past experience there not gentle with tractor.
Bah... All out and sorted now! truck seems fine, slight wheel mis balance where its full of mud lol.
My mate turned up in his defender to pull me out. he got one wheel onto the soft mud and promptly got stuck.... In the end we got a hand winch and winched them both out... I'm ###### shattered!!!
Thanks for all your help and advice, really good crowd!!! I really appretiate it!!!
It felt ###### good to put it in 2wd again! - and it still feels odd walking on flat hard land
I can't see the frontera link... Was it posted by my mate Davey per chance???
