rear window question

hi, will the rear window from a mk1 2.4tdi fit in my 1994 mk2 3ltr tdi perfectly without modification ?
i need one asap and see lots of people are breaking mk1s on ebay but i dont know if they will be any good for my mk2 .

Not sure, as a 3rdGen owner, but didn't know 1st & 2nd Gens had an intercooler (the i of tdi)

1st Gens wont be ten a penny think you are a bit confused as
a 2.4 and 3.0 both come in 2nd gen version and the 3.0 in 2nd and 3rd with some 3rd gens having intercoolers

None of which are badged as tdi
That said a 2.4 window will fit you 3.0 if both are 2nd gen

Ebay is full of 2.4 2nd gens but I can't find any 1st gens today

No it won't.

Its unlikely there is a 1st gen on ebay - they are very rare.

nope, that's a mk2. the window will be the same as any other mk.2. The mk2 started in 89 and ran to 95 approximately so from a G plate to an M plate.

a mk1 looks quite different with a fibreglass rear roof section that lifts off, bit like a truckman top for a pickup but with dodgy 80s styling
