alternator

right whilst on the plains my dash lit up like a xmas tree a few taps on the alternator and 15 gallons of wd40 all ok , coming home from the plains same symptoms same cure all ok


till today
same symptoms same cure ,
what i need to know is my alternator on its way out?? or is it full of crud and is there some way of sorting it ???

damn this truck is getting expensive this year allready ,rad ,steering idler ,pitman ,

clean the engine bay,let it dry,take plugs out of alternator,wd,then check the earth to body and wire brush it,then hammerite it

will do, started to do it today but it was to cold lol could'nt get plug out of alternator hands was frozen

mine is a 3.0

just that most alternator probs we go to,its just a dodgy earth.......put it it this way i always carry 5+ earth straps with me
