2nd gen and 3rd gen surfs??

back in the day.... when rob was one of the original few members... (can't remember if he was on the old site... but probably, seeing as he's member 93)
all surfs were equally good and only pajero's were cr@p!

just a guess, having nearly 5 years of being a forum member, he's probably forgotten more than most will ever know!


(mind you, i didn't think much of that rave music on the devils pit film!... hehehe!!)

Thats cos no one knew quite how nice the 3rd Gens are as an SUV, or how good all rounder 2nd gens are for everything, or how completely the ultimate 4x4 1st Gens are.

Well having had my fill of gut renching laughter reading those bitchy posts i still THINK my 2nd gen is better ,IN MY OPINION you understand, than the 3rd gen. Seen a 3rd gen today and know mine is a lot less noisy and appeared to have more oomph going up hill and pulling off from standstill at traffic lights. BUT THATS ONLY MY OPINION!!!!

Not wishing to wind anyone up, isn't the (non-intercooled) 3.0TD engine in 3rd gen the same as the 3.0TD in the 2nd gen? Ergo the playdoh head you refer to must apply to the 3rd gen too, or were you just referring to Bibs' inferior 2.4?

thats not very good then :/
i have the recaros in my 2nd gen and find it very comfortable. i like how you can pop the bottom of the seats out to support the bottom of your legs, and that the sides of the seat and the sides of the back rest come round to hug you so you stay where you are supposed to. - this is extra helpful off road.
im not a big sort of person and fit quite well in the seats. but you lose a bit of space where the sides come up.

As a non-hairdressing 3rd gen owner I'd like to say:

1. The seats in the 3rd Gen ARE crap - and the recaro versions are even worse

2. The intercooled 3rd gen is BEST (for me) cos it's got more horses

3. If a 1st/2nd/25th gen had more horses and the same fuel consumption I'd go for one of them
