dont they teach them these sort of things in their driving school?
may be not, but it would only take 5 mins to draw something on the board and explain where the air intake is.. even if they knew absolutely nothing about cars. because not all of us can work these things out.

You know i don't think their 'ordinary' drivers are taught anything, i guess their thrown the keys and told you drive. I think the driver must have crapped themsleves when they hit the water at speed swamping the front windscreen with water losing all visability.
