  • Water Pump & Brake Pads

In the next couple of weeks I'm going to be doing a load of work on the Surf. New Timing belt, pump seals, fan belts, rear diff oil seal, full service, cooling system flush and clean, new water pump, new front pads and a load of other wee niggly jobs.

    I've got 4 questions.

Are Roughtrax OK to buy the water pump and pads from?

Is there anything else I should do when I've got the front of the engine stripped?

Are those 2 ton ramp things OK to use with a surf?

And how can I tell, without taking it off, if the harmonic balancer is OK?
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

    Roughtrax is the place.

I would have thought so as whole truck is about 2 ton so youve prob got 1 and a bit on them.

Harmonic balancer usually makes a noise when going.

While in there its worth while changing the cam belt idler as they become slack, check it but after the second or so belt change you wana look at doin that aswell.
