I think I'll need one then lol

Jason, you don't get stuck that often.......

So shall we have the - If I'm only fitting one locker, which axle gets it? - debate (lol)

Front axle coz its got less articulation, so will probably lift and slip sooner loosing your drive (e.g. going up a lumpy hill when needed most).

Rear axle coz thats giving you more push (when going up said hill).

Search out Yotatech and the Oz forum - the debate rages.........

Agree with Apache though -if you're wheeling to a level you're happy with and not getting stuck very often, you don't need them.

However, just like a nicely fitted winch, come the glorious day you need them you'll be glad you did.............

Rear, mostly because a locked front, sticky big tyres and full lock will destroy your outer CV's with one blip of the throttle if both tyres subbenly grip.

Gotta be the back, burnouts with an open diff are so lame.

          yep done that!!

          fitted lsd's to various commercials.
on anold scammell,we fitted the (bl00dy huge) diff, and had to shim the pinion bearing.we pulled with an old fishing scale to get the right tension on the bearing, and had to keep adding shims till the bearing was preloaded

saying that,i woill deffo get a locker cos i do keep getting it stuck, and i will be bringing it for a visit to the good doctor(along with winch bumper, winch plate etc)

only problem then is,will be able to go wheeling where i haven't been able to before, but when i do get stuck ...who's coming in to get me !!

Got to say something about the LC having a rear diff lock but I cannot think of what to say with sounding smug

Just like having muds, I think you can tackle obstacles at a much slower speed and still make it through, which is far less potentially damaging.

Got it one, easier on the truck, and the ground.

Is the LC diff lock a true locker? like the ones being discussed? Or does it not just lock the center diff, same as 4H or 4L on a 2nd Gen Surf.
