  • Fosters Beer? Favourite Beer?

A comment by breakdowntruck2 just triggered a thought

I find it strange as an aussie that its apparently our favourite beer ( as your uk ads say and most brits think).

In Australia you cant even buy the stuff from a bottleshop, let alone from a pub.

I can honestly say i have never seen fosters on tap at any pub and only rarely in the dusty clearance section of a bottleshop.

Australia only exports fosters, we dont drink the sh*t.

The truth is fosters is one of least favourite beers.

The question i put forward to the surfers out there is whats your favourite beer?

Quite like grolsch, and bud, also partial to a bottle of becks every now and then. Recently taken a liking to corona - especially with a bit of fresh lime dropped into it.

Bitter and Twisted from the Harveston Brewery
Maclays70, Dewchars or any of the blonde real ales.

Then onto Glayva or Drambuie if no Glayva

      hmm perfect

Theakstons "old peculiar" and Wychwood "hobgoblin" are 2 of the best IMO.

Mind you, Ringwood brewerys "Old Thumper" is very nice too

I don't really drink lager any more TBH

            Cheers

Fosters Beer - that's an oxymoron, isn't it!

Into Hobgoblin ale at the mo.

As Woodzie says, pretty much any real ale.

I like weitzen beers...Hoegaarden, Erdinger etc.

                If not that Guinness..

I gave up drinking bitter as nowhere seems to be able to keep it properly anymore and its too "hit and miss" but back in the day a pint of breakspears went down a treat.

I'll drink Fosters in a pub over most tap lagers, or most proper 'local' beers. At home by choice its Coors Light or San Miguel.

I like real ales, but most give me the $hits next day if having a session, and normally evenings at home after I have been working, something cold and fizzy normally scores over warm and heavy.

Normaly Kronenburg, Amstel (if it on tap) (both of these by the way were much better in france than here) fullers london pride, like real ales but like tony they go straight through, add a curry and forget the next morning,
(just like the kevin bl00dy wilson song, "i'll never $hit solid again
