I agree, 2nd gens are the most prevalent and most modified generally so would be the place to start.

+4" from the actual arch would be the way to go, or +2" from the 'wide body' arch, but I presume they would have to come off first.

I'd go for the second type too.

    BUT

Before going and getting a load of moulds, it might be worth giving an idea of the approximate magnitude of cost. Everyone gets very excited but they might be put off a bit if the price tag is several hundreds....

Yup, good points. Is the +2" or +4" a measurement from the body, or an indication of increase over the standard flared arches? An indication of price would also be handy.

Thinking about the +4" arches, It would be almost impossible to get a tyre to fill them out without a majour lift or some serious rubbing

Tyres sunk back in arches looks naff!

Even Richs 33's would be over covered by +4" arches.

I think a differnt, fat +2 or maybe even a 2.5" would be the way to go.

Just my opinion! I wouldnt wanna be proud of my big sticky out tyres an then fit some awesome looking arches an cover the whole lot up!

an yeah, some idea of cost would be nice...

My 31s stick out (a very little bit) from the width of my wide body arches. I suppose it's all to do with offsets and the presence of spacers.

what tyres you got on Sancho?

I was thinking of 12.5" wide tyres with maybe some spacers
that should fill the 4" arches

I was thinking of fitting the wider arches with spacers for my 31s. Nigel, how about a combo deal for this?

31x10.5x15 on spacers. I think the wheels have a pick-up offset so naturally sitck out further too.

Even still with 12.50" an spacers, to fill a 4" arch up is going to mean a lot of beating.

With stormforces truck, he has a 5" lift on the front an still had clearance issues with the valance an mudflaps etc.

to run wheels that filled out a 4" arch nicly would require such a huge lift that 33's would look goofy an too small.

Im sure 4" arches would look great, But i think practicality wise it would be asking for more trouble then the extra 2" is worth.

I think the point is that you already have 2" from the standard wide body flares. As such, Nigel knocking up a load of 2" flares is pointless because we've all got them already.

I can see your point mate, but all i was thinking is it would nice to have some different kind of arches.

I may be wrong, but if there is a way to run +4" arches with tyres that fill them without the lift being too tall for 33's then that would be awesome.

If you look at the blue truck in the link to the 2nd pic, as awesome a truck as it is, the 33x12.50 REALLY lets it down.

I guess it depends on how your read it. I read +2" as being 2inch wider than the standard flares arches. But I accept that it could also mean 2inch wide from the metal work. So Nigel, which do you mean???

As the GRP arches we manufacture are heavier than the flimsy plastic ones so I think we would need to look at arches that REPLACE the stock ones. The first ones the LAS wide arches Not the arctic ones are easier to fit so I think we can go with that style.

Pricing will most likely be in line with our current pick up ones which we have on ebay for £210 as a set of four. This may be + or - a bit but in that area.

As we will be moulding these we can make them any width. +3" from the side of the truck with the stock arch removed??

Also I will need a Gen 2 to mould from. Absolutely no damage will be caused to the vehicle as we have some very high tech mould release agents. Tony N do you have one I can borrow?

                                regards Nigel
