    Hi all.
Just got back from my first real road trip in my new 92' Surf. Blackpool to Berwick-upon-Tweed in Scotland and back, 8 hours round trip including lunch. It drove amazingly, a bit louder than I'm used to but no big deal. I drove the same trip four weeks ago in my so-called executive salon (Peugeot 607). On the motorways with cruise control, climate control, double glazed windows, really, double glazed, the Peugeot wins hands down. However on the A roads and back lanes, the Surf comes out trumps, it was such a pleasure, plenty of power, and it was so much more relaxing to drive than the other car, I actually felt refreshed rather than tired when I got home. One thing I noticed however, my actual speed and the speed showing on my spedo were not in sync. My SATNAV shows your speed when its on, so thats how I know. The difference got worse the faster I drove. When I was actually driving at 70mph my speedo was reading 77mph. Before anyone asks, yes my speedo is in MPH not KmPH. I'm just wondering if the correct speedo was installed for the conversion to the UK. Its a Jap import. The speedo goes to 100MPH and my Surf is a LN130 2.4TD. Any thoughts?

Unless it was a proper mechanical / electronic speedo conversion they normally just stick a calibrated mph sticker over the top of the kph one.

Sounds OK to me. Speedometers are commonly out by 10% (over).

And if they have done that you will notice that your distance clocked is in KMs and NOT miles.

Yes the odometer is in KmPH.
If 10% is acceptable then no problem.
One other question. What am I supposed to look at with the mirror mounted to my NS front wing. Mine wont move and it seems to be looking at the edge of the NS wing , why and if its not, is mine stuck and need freeing up?
