Hello all. Just bought my first Surf. 1992 2.4TD Black, import and beautiful. I came across your forum whilst searching for images. I've also spent more time looking at the site then actually driving my new truck. Work has kept me pretty busy, but am planning a long road trip to NE Scotland this Saturday to collect my new dog (reason I bought Surf). I have joined the forum and will be a bonafide subscriber soon. The question I have is, are there any so called get-togethers for off roading in the NW of England. I'd love the oppertunity to meet other Surf owners and have a go at off roading with some supervision by experienced drivers. Look forward to your replies and will continue to support hiluxsurf.co.uk.

Hello and welcome to the home of the finest people on the Internet!

The trim levels are largely redundant, as the Japanese added so many extras - there is a thread on here somewhere that lists them all I think - but most trucks you see with the same badge on have different levels of spec, so I woudn't worry about it.

As for meets, there is a link from the main forum page on meets and trips - there is usually something going on somewhere, and if you are not afraid of camping, then you can drive anywhere and join one - we are always happy to meet new faces!

So welcome to the wonderful world of Surf ownership - wait for the grin to start, and it won't go away......

excellent, i love camping. Are the meets family orientated or is it mostly sweaty men with dirty trucks. Either way is fine, just want to know if its a family activity or a weekend away for dad.

It can be a bit of both, depends who turns up but mostly family things, and everyone is welcome - it's as much about driving as it is about meeting people, so have a look at some local (or not so local) get yourself along and say hi!

Whats the difference between off roading and green laneing?
