Had first test drive of my new 3rd Gen. Very impressed. Its immaculate with only 45000kms on the clock. I wil get it on the road officially next weekend. Initial impressions: it feels a lot roomier, don't feel like I am sat on the floor as much as I do in the 2nd gen and feels more car than 4x4.
Some minor scuff damage in transit to the back wheel arch to fix due to some numpty docker.
Yes its a third Gen and dare I admit its got a petrol engine but I am going to get it gassed up. I don't do any serious off roading and don't tow anything. I do a lot of miles with work and its the only way I can afford to keep surfin'. I'll let you know how I get on with the gas.
I will miss the chrome of the 2nd gen and the grunt of the 3.0l oil burner but I guess you can't have everything.
