  • DVD Player Etc Fitted.

Busy weekend. New front wheel bearings fitted to both sides, still a slight wobble but 90% better than it was, going to get wheels balanced tomorrow. Fitted the DVD player I bought last week and I must say I'm well pleased with it for the price. Nice clear picture, good volume and tone controls, touch screen and remote are well laid out. Good TV and radio reception. Only downside is it hasn't got CD text but it's only a small gripe.

Oh, and although everybody but me hates it, I got my wood look dash fitted.

Sorry about the dirty carpets Vince but it was pi55ing down today.

Great fit actually. No need to file the double din opening like some had to. The unit slid straight in and was a doddle to wire up.

(Oh and thanks for the restrained comments about my dash!)

Didn't have to take the dash apart Rod, the DVD player just slid in and locked in place.

                Copycat - Lucky bu**er!!!

My cd player was screwed into two brackets which were screwed to the cubby hole, an then that was all bolted into the metal frame underneath the dash!!!

My 1st surf, I bodged the hell outta the dash to get a cd player in there!! A good tug an it wouldve probably fallen out!

Hummmph! It isn't vinyl, it's pretendy wood!

I know I said I would take it off if I didn't like it. Luckily I do, but if I hadn't liked it I was doomed anyway. I don't know what the adhesive is but I think if I tried to remove it I'd pull the dash out before the glue gave way!

Go for a drive and do some hard cornering, then give the bearing nut another tweek if you've still got the wobbles.

The DVD player looks like a factory fit.

As does the wood. A factory ran by the head of bad ideas and staffed by people wearing high waisted flares who think crimpoleen looks exactly like denim
