    I have heard of these.

I do have some concerns about hoofing off in the Surf and dragging the chasis from underneath the Range Rover though.

a good all terrain tyre would be good,as for tools and range rovers, best take a good book whilst you wait for the rac/aa
      Non intercooled nothing.

Kinetic Recovery Rope can be very dangerous, I've seen vids of tow balls being pulled of trucks and the ball then flying through the rear window of the towing truck.

They need to be used with a lot of care

I think i will probably go for the chaeper option with regards the tow rope and look later at getting a kinetic tow rope.

For general green laning what are our thoughts on tyre pressures?

normal road preasure unless it's gonna get extreme or really muddy then drop 5-10 psi

our thoughts from here are as follows,

                hmmmm...ahem......urrrrrrrrr.a hhhhhhhh

just leave them as they are.
imho tyre presures and their dropping are really only beneficial when using mud tyres in extreme conditions.with decent tyre ( including a/t's) your surf will amaze you with where it can go

I tend to drop the PSI in the Hilux from 30 to 24 for comfort as much as anything, (my poor old back)

Every form of recovery is dangerous. The main thing is to always use as little force to recover a truck as possible IE:if you can just take take up the slack and then pull out the truck at a slow pace then thats great but if there are no other means of recovery then a bit of pace will be needed and as long as it's not way over the top they are just as safe as straps. I have seen straps snap and they carry as much energy as a kinetic rope or winch wire.In all cases a snapped recovery rope, strap, wire is very bad.You should always place a coat, blanket, tarp or winch sail over the line anyway to take the energy out should the recovery line snap

Right no worries on the tyre presures front then.

Can't wait to go I'm really up for a laugh with this.

The truck is running ok at the moment other than the front drivers side wheel bearing whistling at me.

I need to sort this at some point but I am hoping it will survive the off roading for one run anyway.

Think I might grab myself some waterproof seat covers any suggestions for best makes to fit standard surf seats?

Shackles are heavy so cost twice as much by post and I got mine from a show. Liveridge are local to you (there must be many other 4x4 shops), they say they carry accessories so give 'em a try.
