Had my third visit of the year to the local DVLA office. I'm now on first name terms. Its a long story I wont go into but I ended up with three cars all with private plates, one mine, one the wife's and the other my daughter's who isn't even old enough to drive. Unfortunately due to very poor planning my number was on my wife's car, my daughter's on the surf and my wife's on my Mondeo ST200 which I sold earlier in the year. After numerous visits to the DVLA and an amount of cash I am too embarrased to admit to I now have the numbers on the right car and my daughters number retained. Quite why I bothered with pravate plates is beyond me but it seemed like a good idea at the time. A case of too much cash and too little sense.
The moral of the story is don't bother with cherished numbers it would have been less hastle and cost a lot less money to change my name by deed poll.
Oh, and by the way please note my new email address: K232DPY@supanet.com
