its strange that this sort of discusion also goe's on on the soarer site i belong to, the younger members tend to go for brushed alloy or carbon fibre finishes ,which will be out of fasion within a few years , but the older members still tend to go for the wood effect finish, and why? look at most prestige motors and aspiring prestige models they will all have wood somewhere in the cabin, some have brushed alloy but it is just a fashion trend to take your eye away from the bland plastic colour/finish, the same can be said about wood but wood has been in cars since they were first built and just gives that little bit of extra class.
but with the greatest respect to people who like it,its the fact thats its just stick on,just wrong!

I agree with you mate, REAL wood dashes always look nice!
We had a couple of old Triumph spitfires - wooden dash! Nice touch - But in a surf!!!
Its just a stick on dash kit! - class and stick on dash kit cant go in the same sentance without a 'has no' in the middle!
But - copycat! fairplay to you mate, As said! its your truck .... Enjoy it mate! Its what its for
Thanks for all your comments lads, I see there are more 'neays' than 'yeays'. I thought that 'wood' be the general concensus of opinion.
Sorry Ian, it ain't a leg pull mate, it's going on at the weekend and contrary to Bushys plea the pictures will be posted!
Good thing is, if I don't like it once it's on, it only cost less than 10 litres of derv so I could remove it without it breaking the bank. We'll see once it's on but sorry lads I think it'll be there to stay.
Actually thats very well done/finished off, is it your truck Andy? not my cup of tea but hats off for the workmanship (Vince! thought it was yours as your the cabinet maker)
Factory fitted wood effect does look nice, but i've never seen a "stick on" kit that did'nt look like a uummm well a "stick on kit" i suppose if your were to make it look the boll0cks you could mask up after it's stuck on and lay on 30 coats of clear laquer, any way best of luck jim, as you say it'll come off just as easy as it went on, (probably on it's own when the sun get to it)
That picture is the wrong way round. Perhaps you've gone and bought a kit for a left hooker? Would explain the cheapness...
I see what you mean Andy, the clocks are back to front , but it's just a picture I found to illustrate what it should look like. Me kit is definately a right hand drive one, I've offered up the bits just to check and they will fit okay.
