  • Sunday morning 11/11

I'm sure a lot of you will be tearing about tomorrow getting up to all sorts
Do try to find a minute or two at eleven o'clock to stop and Remember.

    In Flanders Fields
    by John McCrae, May 1915

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
    We shall not sleep,
    though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

I'm tempted to drive up to the lenham war memorial and spend some time there tomorrow. Lest we forget.

We can celebrate the other 364 days in the year, tomorrow is about rememberance for fallen hero's, and that is what it's all about, remembering the dead.

On monday we can celebrete life, hell after 11.00 am tomorrow we can celebrate life, but at 11.00 am we remember the dead, and those left behind by them.

Merely the fact that you *are* thinking about it is what matters most.
