read lots of posts about using veg oil but still not sure.
    so to clarify,

    1. go to my local Tesco's.
    2. purchase X amount of vegtible oil.
    3. pour it straight into my fuel tank with an equivalent amount of diesel.
    4. drive around the land costing half as much.

do i need any special gadgets or gizmoes to to this.
    many thanks
    surf-wejd

if you send through paypal, £98.95, i'll send you all i need to sort your surf out ready for veg use....

....and a few days later i'll have brakes that work!!!!
i swear, it was like that when i got here...

aldi is 8p per litre more than tesco round here

tesco have a 3 litre veggie oil for £2.10 (70p a litre) where as aldi have it for 78p per litre

How much is Aldi's cheapest oil? Lidl have stopped selling their 49p corn oil and Tescos are being stroppy with anyone buying in bulk round my way.

For the sake of waiting 24hrs you could filter some used veg oil and it'll cost you nothing.

I filter about 100 ltrs every week and pay nothing for it (mega savings)

                  just my litres worth

                  cheers

Great thread guys almost convinced me....

BUT (and I havent read as much as i should have)

Where do you stand on paying fuel duty on a oil / diesel mix? or is it a grey area, what if the tank were tested? Also is there a reduction in road tax if you declare it?

Saw diesel at £1.09.9 today - even tescos 1.04.9 Grrr

                    Cheers

I passed through worthing this morning and evening, on an out posting to bognor, bit oblivious to other surfers today as just wanted to come home

                        Numberplate is N390 RAP

Quite often in Worthing though and live in Shoreham

It's not a grey area. So long as you don't use more than 2,500 litres of alternative fuel per year, you don't have to pay duty.

But keep records anyway... Just in case...

Lol in that case you'll probably see my surf in aldi's car park tomorrow checking out the price of veg oil... and sneaking in to Fishy business to ensure i hit my overdraft

Is there a better veg oil to use?

Will remember to log it all

                                Gotta be worth a go
