I often find that most cats can't be bothered to chase mice now.

A mouse trap would be a better bet.

As for the smell etc, I think you might have to bite the bullet and buy a replacement seat

yeah but a pig smells more than a cat, especially after 6 weeks. the cat must have only been dead a day surely. it must have survived the 1st couple of days at least.

Our neighbours have been a bit funny with us recently, went out yesterday and her son accused us of shooting their cat!!!!!! Not sure where they've got the idea from as:-

1 don't own a gun
2 have cat of our own

But it does explain their attitude, can't wait to move now

But getting back to your problem I think the best thing you can do is say you found in locked in your garage, if you have one and that you've just found it.
If you have no garage just say you found it in the garden somewhere.

Also think you might need a new seat

no way dude, i just put up with the smell of milk for 6 months and that finally went!!!

the smell isn't that bad to warrant trying to find a new seat with matching interior, especially since mine is the rarest, most ultra cool colours.

clean the seat, then spray it with the oust furniture stuff, if it still smells buy one of the HOLTS spray on air fresheners from halfords, that should get rid of most smells.

maybe the mouse is really smelly.....it could be one of those french mice.

and why do animals as small as cats cack so much? it's like my Iguana, the thing's 4 feet from nose to tail but the body is only about 2 and a half feet and it only weighs about 1 stone, but it could cack for Brazil!!!
