dillypad, that's exactly what I am thinking of. I can't consider at the moment though unfortunately, I have too much work to do with OH.

How often do you replace the tyres? I can't really see us doing much off roading and we may possbly tow a camping trailer.

I'm imagining this would be more comfortable than a landrover too.

Big cars are far easier to manouvre than small cars, fact. The only time it can be awkward is where the spaces are cambered funny and you can't see the little sports car behind you at all.

A 3.0 litre 2nd gen will be as reliable as any other similar age car (93-95) provided you look after it. Get it serviced properly when you get it, and then anually thereafter and it'll not let you down. You can change the filters and fluids between services aswell if you want, they're not difficult to do. Just give it a once over every couple of weeks to ensure the fluid level's are all good and nothings leaking and you'll be unlucky if it let's you down.

You will probably never need to but if the worst thing were to happen like a blown engine you will be able to get it back on the road for less that £1,500s That is very cheep.

I have owned cars trucks Land Rovers since 1983 and never found anything so pleasant to drive on and off road motorways or country lanes.

The kids shopping dogs all fit in with ease they pull large loads and take dogs abuse. A new wing for less that £70s.

Hubby has a difficult argument against them.

Oh and you get the best expert advice help and mechanical assistance there is without stepping away from the keyboard.

Mine had part worn tyres when a bought it 20K miles later there is still a lot of life left in them. Tyres are relatively cheep.

No comparison to a landrover. Land rovers are good offroad vehicles but a nightmare if you drive more than 20miles.

We have two kids, and there's still cartloads of room in it with us all in. They are very accomodating on space. Unless you have six sprogs, size ain't a factor.

i used to buy front tyres on my old car every 3-4months but I cant wheelspin the surf much on tarmac so its MUCH cheaper in tyres for me

A reasonable 2nd gen for £1500, a lot of car for the money, they are good value right now.
