The EFI pump is a lot easier to remove and refit that the mechanical one, AFAIK, and that is the majority of the work.

Once the pump is out and on the bench, the technicians should overhaul/refurbish the pump and set it up for your vehicle. The materials that the internal components are made of are very hard, as they move at incredible speed, and some are 20 years old and still running with minimal wear, and from what I've read, they technicians arely have to replace any components within the pump during refurbishment.

The original saels were designed to run using the old diesel fuel which contains more sulphur and other additives that helped lubricate the pump and seals.
The new diesel has less sulphur and lubricants, and veg oil can be corrosive to them, and cause them to shrink.

The new seals are made of a more resiliant material.

It may also be worth sending your injectors to bob to while the truck is off the road, as this can make a marked difference in running too, especially when using a high % of veg oil.

they guy i spoke to asked if the truck running ok other than the leak and it is
so he said £225 , so im not getting a refurb as such , the trucks done about 120,000 kms so should be ok otherwise, as for the injectors they can wait till new year
