Can you run something off an in invertor on sort of a constant basis? i've found the 24v water pump just aint doing it on 12v, so concidering costs would i be able to run it from an invertor or would it do the invertor in being on for long periods? or would i be better off biteing the bullitt and just shell out (again) for a 12v pump, ta ian

Cheer's guy's (even you brokedowntruck) , take your point Matt!
did.nt have to look too long at mudskippers link to figure it out, another pump
would be cheaper (unless i can stick a 12v motor on the pump head)Too young to die and too old to give a toss

If you fit a 3KW inverter, and actually use it anywhere near its limit, you will be drawing in the region of 250A from your 12v system. That will place serious strain on pretty much every part of the electrical system.
If you dont need that much power, spec your inverter nearer what you'll actually need. It will be smaller, cheaper and less likely to set your truck on fire.Cutting steps in the roof of the world
