  • Pingewood!

Well, a big thank you from me and the missus to all we met today at pingewood.
We both had a really good day out.

some pics we took can be found at http://offroad.perimetersolutions.net
Sorry they are a bit big, forgot to change the setting!

    A few questions........

My brakes seem to brake ok, but the pedal now goes to the floor, as does the handbrake lever come right out..... will that resolve itself, or will I have to sort that???

I gave the engine bay and rad a good pressure wash before we left, and got home no probs, but a few times on long hills, the temp gauge went up a little bit, never into the red but maybe to 3/4's Will this sort itself, or does it mean I need to clean the rad more??

Thanks again, to Linda and tony for sorting us out, jotto and vagrant for rides and food!, rubblebags, jason for towing me out of the bog! and everyone else we met for being a good laugh and so friendly.

    Defo doing it more!

    Cheers

Yes this happens to us everytime too. Handbrake cable needs readjusting and the rear drums usually need cleaning out. When the handbrake cable is correct the pedal travel will be less too.

Sounds like the Rad's still a bit blocked. Give it another thorough clean!

Thanks again, to Linda and tony for sorting us out, jotto and vagrant for rides and food!, rubblebags, jason for towing me out of the bog! and everyone else we met for being a good laugh and so friendly.

Glad you had fun! Nice to meet you and Tasha, hopw to see you again!

    Defo doing it more!

the drums have adjusters on them located opp the wheel at the top, under a piece of rubber. remove that and the adjuster wheel is located inside. Jack up wheel and adjust till wheel just lightly rubs. Repat for other side and you should find brakes work and hbrake ok too. Would recommend cleaning out drums too as lots crap gets in and will cause probs later.

I think this happens to all surf drums on every outing through water. I believe its been posted before but it sound like the adjusters are re-adjusting themselves cause when you check the shoes that aren't that worn. Mine is the same too.

Have fun and use an air line if poss.

They get dirty underneath the spring that holds the adjuster cam. This allows the cam to undo every time you apply the brakes.

          Cheers

Excellent, its one thing knowing whats wrong, but knowing why it went wrong is so much more helpfull.
