  • 2nd Gen in dash speakers

I am hoping this doesnt turn into a 25 page read but...

    My 1995 SSR-X ltd with genuine 21k

    Only joking.

Can anyone tell me the diameter of the speakers built into the dash near the foot wells as my passenger side one sounds like its blown and is making radio 4 sound even worse.

Also are they easy to replace or do I have to strip all of the damn dash?

    Many Thanks

    Adam

      Its genuinely iffy :p

I never thought speakers depended on millage, I guess the little old japaneese lady and her pets liked death metal at 10000dB (my sterio can do that I was there when it was built)

          drivers side - lower section, 1 x 10mm bolt, 7?x philips screws
pass side - glovebox section, 1x 10mm bolt, 4?x philips screws

they're about 4.5" halfway between a 4" (10cm) and a 5" (13cm) speaker and only have two mounting holes and a funny connector on them, you'll have to make up something to make one of the above sizes fit, and swap the connector for normal speaker terminals

Speakers are 4" up front mate! Easy to swap out....

Unless your over your 21k mileage....then the screws will rust up an you wont be able to get to anything!!

              Thanks folks,

fortunately im less than 121k, i'm sure I can crimp something, and rusty screws well i'll probably order some new ones with a lower milage, or will unscrewing them wind back the milage?

4" damn even the speakers have a way of making me feel bad
