I have been thinking of mounting my TOM TOM into the dash. I was going to remove the two air vents above the radio on the center consul. Any one got any thoughts on this? I want it so i can still remove it when its not needed.

me too. I was think either on or in the dash, i am sure the mounting bracket can be adapted to fix on to the dash. Would it be a problem to remove the vents? The air flow would still be there which may be an issue if the vents are on hot. Is there any where else to dash mount one?SWIFT AND BOLD

As for removeing the vents, i did it a while back for gauges not sat nav, you'll find a big plastic squarish elbow, i cut the lower half off, tapped it up and stuck it back on to stop hot air comeing out there and being a problem, you gain a lot of room in there, i fitted spare fuse blocks for live and ign feeds plus
panel lights and an earth block, mind i did away with the useless cup holders too, see if i can find any pics of the inside etc
Sorry it's a bigun
