thats because we know they work! as do the hydrolic?, but I think on board air has got to be usefull and no one can argue about the efectivness of air bags on soft ground or travel distance and you dont want to drive home on under inflated tyres or our coleages in blue might just proove to be a little too interested (they do seem to home in on anything that looks interesting)

Air over Hydraulics. Do a search. Basically you use air to operate hydraulic rams rather than a hydraulic pump. Cheap and effective I've heard.
