  • My New Temp Gauge, What Temp Should My Engine Be At?

It currently runs according to the gauge at 91 degrees, is this normal? under prolonged load it then reads about 97, but receeds very quickly when easing off

sounds about right to me, the thermostat opens at around 88 i think (or was it 82?) the electric fan kicks in at 97 and kicks out again at 92 so i guess the optimum engine temperature is between the latter two temperatures.

This should give you an idea on what temps are expected.

They were too expensive when i was looking for a temp gauge,
Too young to die and too old to give a toss
