  • disconected EGR still smokes

hi guys, i have recently disconected and blocked the rubber pipe to the EGR valve, but it still smokes a bit when it drops a gear and on start up.
now im thinking of making a blanking plate like http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/egr.htm
will i be wasting my time or can the EGR jam open so the vac pipe mod isnt working?

it is possible for the valve to jam open, but if you stick your finger under the valve.and grab hold of the inner bit you can pull it shut, try spraying it with wd 40 and working it up and down.to unseize it.but if all else fails then block it off with a piece of metal.

did my egr mod last week what a difference, just done 2 long runs,200 miles each, no smoke, more torque, more mpg. should have done it ages ago!
