Karma - not seen one for the third gen, I was looking over Tim's (hawkeye...) and couldn't work it out - it may be easier with a 3rd gen, could be a case of using a tool like Pirate Storm....no, that came out wrong like Will mentioned, the little bars you get, slide them down the side and see if it comes out....

HELP!!!
I've managed to snap my current Ariel and have bought a replacement but can I figure out how to get the stereo out.........i don't think so! It's an after market Clarion one that was in there when I bought it but there are no holes to remove it, I spoke to the guy in the shop where I bought the ariel and he reckons that I have to pull out the dash board to get to the back to plug in my new ariel..... can this be true or is he full of ****

Anyone, anywhere HELP please as I have a long trip next week and NEED music!

thinking outside the box here, but since you've only snapped the aerial if you'd snapped your ariel then you've killed the little mermaid Anyway back to the thought, can't you fix your new aerial on then joint the new cable to the old one before it goes into the cab and can't be reached?

Dude, you assisted in fitting a Lexus V8 into a Supra and you're asking for help in removing a couple of pieces of plastic dash??!!

I did more then assist! :P

I am fine with all the mechanical stuff and can work out pretty much anything, its just interior trim can be a PITA, -lots of hidden clips and screws. Usually a matter of applying presure in the right place then just "undoing" its easier to see a job like this before hand so you have an idea of where all the clips are instead of finding them when they snap

I'll properly pull out all the centre console this weekend, not got a new stereo yet, but want to take all the carpets up for my sound deadening mission.. already done the roof, boot floor and rear quarters.

It not as bad as it looks - I can replace the stereo in a 2nd gen in about 45 mins....start to finish (including the front speakers).....

You can give me a hand fitting my new one then (when I've bought it) last one got mud/water damaged........



ps- have already replaced speakers - paper cones and muddy water don't mix

Too much

I started off with a 60 square foot pack, but after doing roof, boot floor, and rear quarters (all one layer) I was nearly out, so I got another 60 square foot, and 75 square foot of some thicker foamy "techlite" stuff, which I used to do the second layer on the roof and thats as far as I have got.

Its $$$$$$ expensive and it scares me how much I have spent on something that I can't see! -and no one will really notice! Edeadand Teklite.

It all started with that leaky sun roof.... so I took the headlining out to clean it.... and thought "while its out........." I'll summerise all the work when its done on another thread to give an idea of how much deadening is needed, - and if its worth it!

Jason I've bought a stick on ariel to go on the inside so i don't snap it again so am unable to link it with old one but nice idea.

I guess i'll be out there tomorrow stripping out the dash board.
