Hey all,
I thought I'd share a story I heard today about the sad end of a burgundy surf 3.0 SSR-X....
I cannot garuntee these are the exact facts but I am sure they are faily close to being true as possible as I heard this from a trusted third party...
Picture this....
You are driving your pide and joy surf along the road, when you see a chavvy boy racer dressed in burbury (speculation) rolling down the road in his "modified" Nova with the alloys, rubber band tyres, and blacked out windows tailgating the car infront of him, directly infront of you.
So you ease off the go peddle and give them some room, and you watch the driver of the car being tailgated flashing his brake lights and slowing down to get this jumped up roller skate owner off his rear bumper... at this point you are probably thinking good for him.
Eventually the driver of the car being tailgated decides enough is enough, and stops his car, forcing the boy racer to stop too, as you are approaching and slowing down in your surf you watch the driver walk up to the boy racers front window to "have a word in his shell like".
For the next 3 seconds time seems to slow down as you watch the driver approach the drivers window, then out of no where the boy racer realises he isnt as big or as cleaver as he thought he was when he passed his test and decides he doesnt really fancy a sandwich of the knuckle variety, slams his nova in reverse and floors it....
Strait into the front of your Surf, as you are rolling up behind them.
The result one completely dead nova, and a Surf with front end damage which the insurance co have decided to write off.
The good news (and all stories should have happy endings) If the insurance co write off the Surf the owner has the opportunity to buy it back, and the majority of the front end damage to the surf is cosmetic, so with luck and some cash it should be back on the road some time soon.
I just hope the surf driver managed to claim whiplash, pain, and stress from the little muppets insurance co.
